Univac 1100 Register Set
The Univac 1100 series of mainframe computers had a large set of user addressable hardware registers.
The machine was a 36-bit, 1's-complement, third generation, transistorized mainframe that had three general classes of hardware registers.
Octal notation was used to designate numeric quantities -- 12 octal digits would comprise the 36-bit value with the far-left binary digit denoted as bit position 35 and the far right binary digit denoted as bit position 0:
